Matt Richards
WATIGA was founded by Matt Richards. Matt is a qualified lawyer, admitted to practice in Australia, England, New York and Singapore. Matt has practiced in the leading American law firms of Latham & Watkins, Sidley Austin and Baker & McKenzie. Prior to founding WATIGA, Matt was the general counsel and an equity partner with a top-tier Indonesian-focused private equity fund manager. Proficient in Bahasa Indonesia, Matt commutes regularly from Singapore to Indonesia and within the region.
Matt holds the Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours), Bachelor of Asian Studies (First Class Honours) and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from The Australian National University. Matt is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, holds the Executive Diploma in Directorship from the Singapore Management University / Singapore Institute of Directors, and is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.
